This will be my very first Tutorial written in Corel X5 ...

I’m working with a PTU scrap kit Called “Abby”

I’m making a face book time line banner today

825x315 is the size I make

Paper8 flood fill bottom layer

Open paper8 Using your rectangle tool with a width of 15 draw a border around the tag

Add a white gradient glow of 4 to make it stand out, then add drop shadow to the border after you make it a raster

Drop shadow settings

Vertical 5

Horizontal 3

Opacity 100

Blur 5

Color black

Frame 3 c/p re-sizes by 50% , now take the close up of the tube paste it behind the frame

Then re-size it by 50% clean off any excess of the tube where it is just her in the frame, nothing on the outside of frame…

Take Ribbon and paste it under the border pull to where the pearls are under the border…

Flower9 c/p filp over and re-size by 45% pull to the lower right hand side of tag, it will cover up part of the frame on the bottom…

Flower5 c/p re-size by 35 rotate 45° to the right, then pull it to the bottom of the tag just above the bottom of flower 9

JailDoor, c/p re-size by 50 and pull to the very far left hand side of tag (your avatar will cover some of it) Then do a High Pass Sharpen with these settings

Radius 15

Strength 30

Blend Mode Hard Light

Bag 1 c/p re-size by 35% pull to the left hand side of your frame

I’m flood filling with paper8 and just added a name to it

I’m also adding a border like the one on the banner but instead of 15 use 10 and the width and add the same gradient glow to it..

Ok to put font on your tag for CorelX5 you need to make sure for the copyright layer you have it on pixels not points because pixels is much smaller, and it will be tiny.. For a normal font for your name make sure it is on Points then what ever size you want it, and use what ever color you wish I’m using paper 8 for my background and a dark red from one of the flowers for the outline, then I’m adding a gradient glow to the words on banner and avie..

Add your copyright to the tag, and then what ever saying you want on the Time Line Banner
